FAQ
Frequently Asked QuestionsHow do I book?
All booking is done online for your convenience and mine.
The “book now” will take you to my services list and calendar, where you can view my availability and choose a slot that suits you.
Do I need to book an appointment or can I just walk straight in?
Pre-booking is essential. There is only ever one client in the salon at a time and all appointments are pre-booked, with time left between for privacy.
Please don’t arrive early for your appointment because you’ll likely have to wait outside – not ideal in this british weather!
Do you work weekends?
I don’t work weekends as I’m open until 8pm on weekdays.
However, I can be flexible in the week, and if you desperately need an appointment earlier or later than my advertised hours or on a different day, get in touch and I’ll try my best to fit you in.
Is there parking?
Yes! It’s zone 15 so there’s free parking for up up to 2 hours on my street and surrounding streets.
Is there anything I should do to prepare for my wax?
A lot of waxing success depends on how you look after your skin before and after a wax, and in between waxes too.
Drink plenty of water; it really does help.
You can take ibuprofen 20 minutes before your appointment if you’re concerned about pain.
I’d advise you to wear loose comfortable clothing, like cotton boxers if you’re having an intimate wax, looser fitting trousers/joggers for a leg wax, etc, and if you like you can bring a clean t-shirt to pop on after a back wax.
Apart from that, just arrive clean and fresh, I have wipes so you can freshen up if needed.
A full list of pre and post skin care information will be emailed to you upon booking, give it a read as it has some important information.
And what should I do after my wax?
For the next 24-48 hours or so your empty hair follicles are still open, and you don’t want bacteria to get into them.
Try to avoid excessive sweating, sun exposure, deodorant or suncream, hot baths or saunas.
Shower with cool-lukewarm water only.
Avoid sex that day after an intimate wax.
Wear clean, loose-fitting clothes.
Should I trim or shave?
Trimming your hair can make the waxing experience more comfortable and can help prevent hair from breaking.
You can trim hair that is more than 1/2 an inch long.
Your hair should be at least 1/4 inch in length (which makes it long enough to lay flat on your skin). That’s no lower than a number 3 on clippers.
Please don’t shave for at least 3 and preferably 4 weeks prior to your appointment to ensure that your hair is long enough.
If you don’t have clippers that’s ok I can trim it for you at the salon.
Will I remove my underwear?
If you’re having an intimate wax, then yep, pants off!
What if I get an erection?
It happens sometimes, don’t worry! It’s purely a mechanical reaction. We won’t make a big deal and will carry on waxing.
Should I do anything at home in between my appointments?
We can’t stress enough; gently exfoliate and moisturise regularly to keep skin soft and avoid ingrown hairs.
How often will I need a wax?
After the first couple of waxes your hair will get into a growth pattern.
The recommended time to leave between waxes is 4-6 weeks to reduce hair growth.
